alendronic acid

= sodium alendronate
a bisphosphonate drug that is administered orally for the prevention and treatment of osteoporosis in postmenopausal women or induced by corticosteroid therapy. Side-effects may include abdominal pain, indigestion, and oesophageal irritation or pain.
Trade names:
Fosamax.
